Sophia Gardens is a prestigious Test Cricket venue and home of Glamorgan CCC.
The venue underwent a significant re-development in 2007-2008. As part of the improvements approximately 14,000 Link Spectrum seats were installed to several newly built grandstands.
Although the seats have proved durable and robust during over 13 years of service, as part of a larger upgrade of venue facilities, it was decided by the stadium/club management that the time was right to renew the seats and refresh the whole look and feel of the stadium.
When it came to deciding on a new seat there was only one option that stood out. The Link Spectrum was once again selected allowing the club to efficiently replace existing plastic elements with fresh, bright new plastics directly to the existing galvanised steel posts that remained in outstanding, corrosion free condition.
This saved both time and money and the revamped seating areas have really breathed new life into the stadium.
